Luis and Megan were absolutely fabulous!! Their attention to every detail of our dinner was the sign of their professionalism. Their smiles and fun conversation with us made our dinner experience very special. Their wine recommendations resulted in great pairing with our meals. I can’t wait to come back to Winslow’s and spend another evening in their good company! Thanks Luis and Megan!!

Winslow’s Tavern is so many things - a fine, restaurant, excellent outdoor seating for eating oysters or drinking a spritz, and an upstairs tavern that evokes Wellfleet’s past. The kitchen and much of the staff are drawn from winners of a South African culinary contest. The food is eclectic, excellently prepared and a visual experience. Pricing is high (what isn’t on the Cape?) and, as with all seasonal restaurants, it can be spotty in the first weeks of the summer. My best recommendation? Try any of the variety of baked/broiled oysters. Tabasco lime butter is my favorite.

Deceptively fancy! Wonderful ambiance both inside and out. Lots of vegetarian options. Service is friendly. Drinks are excellent and strong. Look for the resident eastern screech owl who lives in the tree outside the restaurant. Every dish I've had here has been well seasoned and beautifully plated.

It was one of the best risotto that I ever had in my life! The scallops were perfectly cooked. We had the clam chowder, too, and it was very tasty. We will keep coming.

This is a 25 minute drive from our home and it is so worth it as it is one of our absolute favorite restaurants on the cape. We have never had a bad meal. Each of the meals are visual masterpieces and even better tasting.

Winslow's Tavern is a “must have” experience on the Outer Cape. It is fine dining in a lovely setting. Head straight upstairs to the bar seating for inventively concocted cocktails by Luis and Megan, Michelin quality menu, and a cozy, comfy atmosphere. My go-to on a rainy afternoon for the best clam chowder in the region, and a beautifully curated wine list.

What a special gem Winslow’s Tavern is in Wellfleet Center. Such an interesting and inventive menu. Swordfish schnitzel was a crispy outside yet moist inside generous piece of fish in a peppery vinaigrette. Served with artichoke hearts and shishito peppers, it was an unlikely combo but it worked. The scallop crudo appetizer was a delight. Super fresh scallop in chili crisp oil, with sweet mandarin orange and turmeric rice puffs for a little crunch. One of the best apps I’ve ever had. My vegetarian wife loved the Castelvetrano olives; fresh, bright gazpacho; and caramelized onion dip with focaccia. Can’t wait to go back, there’s so many more items I want to try.

A friend and I were down the cape to do a day hike at the Atlantic White Cedar swamp trail. We didn’t have a lunch spot in mind, but when we looked at the menu for Winslow’s Tavern we knew we needed to pay a visit and it surely didn’t disappoint. The second you walk inside, you’re captivated by the warmness of the restaurant. You feel like you’ve just arrived back home and all your friends and family are there to welcome you back. My friend got the Venison off the South African Sunday Special menu; which was perfection! I’m happy she shared a piece with me. I got the swordfish schnitzel and it was delicious. I would never of thought to do a schnitzel with a swordfish steak and it was such a comfort. The display of the food was exceptional, good portion of food that satisfies you and doesn’t make you feel like you could have asked for more. The attention to detail in the entire construction of the meal, makes you want to learn to be a better cook. It really is creating magic and it’s a gift to be able to cook with such passion and knowledge of making a meal that enlightens all the senses. Also, the winter sangria was deviously delightful and I could have drank more if I didn’t have a long drive ahead. Next time we will have to arrange to stay in the area. I would like to especially thank Richie for being an absolute delight to have met, his warm and charming personality were infectious and it was great laughing with him. We will definitely be back, to our home away home. Thank you to the entire staff at Winslows Tavern, I’ll be telling everyone in the area to pay a visit.
